Hi MeekRN -

It is a photoshop job - A decent one, but chopped nonetheless -

Here is why -

It is a time-exposure shot - notice all the guages are "sweeping" as they do when you initially turn the key to start the car.

What also happens then? The DIC has the CORVETTE text sweep across the display at the same time....

So - the means that since the photo in the link is showing movement of the guages, and static text on the DIC display - chop-job.....

Cool picture though - thanks for the link -

best regards -

Or it could be that he has changed the logo Corvette by Chevrolet to Arthurs Corvette thus it would only show up while the guages are sweeping. I think it wouldn't be all that hard to change once into the cars computer.

Hi Bob -

My point was, even if he had changed the logo - it scrolls across the display, and thus would be blurred in this time-exposure picture.

I suppose then you could assume that the program was changed to show the text static - but then you are really stretching.

As pointed out above - the Aurthur is not the same color, and does not have the same text spacing. Dead giveaways.

I would be interested in changing the text display (being a computer geek).

best regards -

It might not scroll if the logo is shorter but then that's a guess on my part. I have a friend who says he has it changed on his car, I'll be seeing him between Christmas and New Year. I'll ask him them. Cuz I'd like to change mine also.

I've read that this can't be done to a C5 - too bad, it would look great. Must have been a photoshop.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is a photoshop. First and foremost this has been looked at since '97 when the C5 came out and no one, no one has been able to do it. A clue for me also is the fact that the name of the photo in the link is called Corvettedashflattened_medium.jpg. Flattening is a tool in photoshop to take a multi-layer photoshop file and blend all the layers so that it can be saved as a .jpeg. As I elluded to in my photoshopped previous post. On the Corvette C5, It can't be done via any user accessible method. I'm sure that someone with the right electonics and computer knowledge could permenantly modify it with a circuit change but I believe that's it.
