Flat spots from sitting are a thing of the past.
That was a bias ply tire thing from yester-years.
You can let your radials sit all winter long and not have a problem

The down side? I'm old enough to know have experienced flat spotting on bias ply tires as well as having purchased a few...

I too have bought more than a few bias ply tires and even if tires do, or did, develop flat spots the tire will roll out smooth in a short distance ( depending on temperature).

I know flat spots are a thing of the past, but I still put my car on that really thick pink insulation.

Someone above answered the question correctly. This is a problem of the far past. Last time I recall that happening was in the 70's with the old nylon bias tire.
