Who is problem free with the Perfect Z0-6

Some problems I've heard each one most likely affects a small %

4.Front tire wear inside
5.Valve train noise
6.Transmission popping out of gear
7. Battery drain

'02 Z06 here, and no problems, nada, zero, zilch. I run mine very, very hard, with around 150 1/4 mile passes this summer. I have broke nothing at all, and am at 13.8k miles.

1.Oil use - they will use some when driven hard... thats the price you pay when its a little Loose...

2.Rocking seats - not a problem here

3.Sticky clutch under hard use - no problem

4.Front tire wear inside - not yet... can reduce negative camber for street use. Designed that way for neutral handling. can be dialed in to prevent inside wear.

5.Valve train noise - sodium filled valves, high lift.. All normal.. its not noise... its the nature of the beast.

6.Transmission popping out of gear - 6 years and 3 C5's, never had this problem.

7. Battery drain - out of town for 3.5 weeks... started up no problem..

8. No car is perfect.. the Column lock is a POS but I have it bypassed.. The seats suck, the steering wheel is too big,

9. The rear tires keep slipping...

Rear Diff leak....2 03's and both have it!!!

Guess it is best to "get it out of the way" before the warranty expires.

2003 here. No problems except for an ignition problem that lead to two tows, but that was my doing more than likely. My 2001 coupe burned oil like crazy, but the 2003 - not a drop.

My only complaint is the amount of break dust. Pretty minor complaint.

Mine's an '04, purchased new in Feb. '04. It has 23K miles now (DD):

1. Motor mount gel leak (warranty fix)
2. Rear diff. leak (warranty fix)
3. Cracked gas tank filler neck (warranty fix)
4. Column lock recall issue (warranty fix)
5. Check engine light came on after putting gas the other day - going in
for a checkup on Wednesday. The car is running fine though, so I'm
not overly concerned about it.

Number 5. turned out to be a crack in the right side gas tank. They
ordered me a new tank, but it takes 7-10 working days for it to arrive.
This is also a warranty fix...

Clutch: bingo passes at the track did the sticky thing, but it held up to my less then good driving and about 70 passes before it was replaced

3rd gear syncros poof at the track

battery cool

seat cool

tires spin but not becuase I am doing something I should not, it's just the extra HP and torq

BIG Problem: need more mods

Column lock problem,,,,,fixed under warranty.
Leaky rear diff seals,,,,,fixed under warranty.
Noisy Valve train,,,,yup, but that's my fault! Heads/cam pkg. will tend to make it somewhat noisy, but it's music to my ears.
Rear tire slip,,cured by Nitto 555r D/R's
Absolutely love the car,,17k miles of grins!
