Headlight problem - rod missing from arm

Headlight problem - rod missing from arm
My drivers side headlight was not going up...after further exam, there is a rod that slides through an arm from the motor which attaches to the headlight to raise it up and down. That rod is gone, as well as the little circular "clip" which holds it in place from the other side. Well after calling a stealership, they said that rod is part of the entire headlight assembly and I will have to order a whole new one at a price of $495.00! Ouch!! Is there any way I can get a new rod and clip without buying a entire new driver's side headlamp? I will post pictures later, to clarify...Thanks!

Actually....... I went up to Corvette Shop & Supplies (in South Tampa on Dale Mabry) Told them what I needed, the guy walked in the back, pulled it off an old headlight assembly and handed it to me!! Didnt charge me anything! Excellent people and service!!!
