Default Snow

Well I decided to put car in garage with only fire and thief at a good time. We are getting snow in Detroit today. I guess 5 inches so far and still coming. I heard maybe 1 or 2 more before it will stop.
I haven't seen any Corvettes out today. Lady down the street just purchased a XLR saw it yesterday not today.
How much do other Corvette owners have in your area, and do you drive in it?

We got about 8 inches on the ground in the Southwestern suburbs of Chicago (but the roads are plowed quite well) - - - hell no, the Vettey is in a heated garage (at my parents house far away from me ) with the insurance cut down down to a minimum.

DC/Balt area. Freezing rain/ice today, which is 10 times worse than snow. C5 is sitting at home, on jackstands, with the battery tender plugged. Daily driver on Blizzaks to get me through.

Man I feel for you guy's. Was born & raised in Mt. Clemens and visited my Mother this past weekend. Saw a very dirty C6 on the road. Just don't seem right! Couldn't wait to get back home to Texas so I can drive mine every day!

When we get snow in north Alabama (it normally happens 2 or 3 times a winter), we usually don't drive much of anything unless we have chains. They aren't real prompt about clearing the roads, and even then it's just the main ones and you still have to drive over untreated residential streets to get to them. They concentrate on really important places, like hospitals. Otherwise, for the most part we just shut down til it melts.

Because Vettes are low, they don't do well in deep snow.

But with the traction control and cautious driving, they are excellent performers on packed show and ice.

The problem is the idiots on the road who don't know how to go slow or drive on ice and snow. It is not possible to defend yourself from a car doing 360's coming right at you.

had ours out last monday to get it inspected; drove on snowy/slushy roads in bitter cold w/ fair amount of snow falling. if ever the phrase "take it easy" applied, that was it. car did quite well. i don't plan to drive it in the snow but will drive it on cold clear days. this winter stuff stinks! bub

Here in Western New York every Vette owner puts it away for the duration. Won't come out to play til at least end of March. Mine is all comfy under wraps with battery tender on and just completed the installation of new seat covers. Got them from Al Knoch. They are of Excellent Quality. Little tight over new foam but much better than that poor quality OE stuff. I will try to post a pic if I can figure it out.[IMG][/IMG]

We got about 8" last week so I haven't driven the Vette since then. We've had two days of above freezing temps so most of it has melted but the streets are a sloppy mess.

I keep mine in the garage during this but fully insured and ready to go once the streets are clear again.

Mostly slush and little snow here in N. Canton, Ohio. Car's been parked for oh... lets see.... a month or so. Was intending on parking it sooner, but had too many nice days. I don't see her being out anytime soon, maybe end of february if it all works out. Odd tho... 4 years ago we had a nice week of xmas and I took out my mustang. Actually got it totaled that day too, so I really don't plan to take the vette out until after the holiday madness.
