I notice there is a amber light that stays on under the rear view mirror on the passenger side. What is it for?

I just got back from my cousin's house in upstate NY...I let him drive the car and he noticed the light, he thought it was cool too.

That's because it wasn't on your 84 or my 85. My buddy had it on his 88, though.

Well in all honesty the first time I noticed it was in an 88. My 95 and 96 had them and they seemed just a tad brighter than the C5 version.
