I have an 04 Coupe and at temp. below 40 dg F. the fan/blower makes a very loud noise until it gets warm. I dont suppose that they all do this do they? It just seems there is one proplem after another with my vette.
My wife said to sell it and buy a new one but hell the new ones from what I see on the C6 forum have more problems.
I consider mine to be too loud on high speed. I just assumed that it was normal for a gm product. I have never heard someone elses though, so I have no basis for comparison.
My fan makes a noise only w/ the heater on high. I thought it might be on it's last leg. I took it to the dealership, who I don't trust very much, and they told me it was normal. Not sure if that helps. I turn mine down a setting or two and that seems to help.
THe bearings are on there way out. The grease is hard and dry. You can drill a small hole in the end plate and squirt some oil in. It will last for a while. The end fix is to replace the motor. It's about a 20 minute job.
Don't go to a parts store, get a genuine GM replacement. I went the route of the parts store and it didn't work. I got mine from GM Parts Direct. But you can get them from any of the dealers.
