Default Another painting Caliper question

Okay sorry for another one of these questions but I am getting ready to paint mine and need your advise. Okay I have an 03 Anniversary Metallic Red Vette. I am going to have the calipers paint dark red as close to my color as possible.

Now the question, what do I do with the corvette letters? Paint them white? Paint them silver? leave them black but clear coated? or what??? Need your advise and if you have a picture of what you think I should do that would be cool too.

Thanks
Bob

I just sanded the corvette down after it was dry. It looks really good. Im very pleased with the way it turned out. also I painted the center hub of the rotor. It looks awsome!

I didn't want the body color for my calipers on my AE so I went with black. THEN....I used a paint-pen to do the letter silver. What ya think?

Put a little vaseline on your pinky and put on the letters, being very careful to get the letters only. Paint and let the paint harden. Clean up the letters with your finger nail, lightly sand to brighten letters and they will look great!!

I used chapstick but it's the same thing. Easy to put on the letters and the paint came right off them when dry. Looks great when it's done

Painted over letters then used a razor blade to cut away hardened paint on the letters the next day.

Painting over them and then removing just off the letters is no big deal. If you want to paint them a different color afterward – I used a oil based paint stick (Sharpie) and then a couple coats of clear.

Here's how I did it
Enjoy

I just finished mine yesterday. I painted mine with Carmine Red GM paint that I got from my local dealer. I also installed a set of Sportbrakes drilled and slotted rotors and replaced a front wheel bearing at the same time. The hardest part of the entire procedure was bleeding the brakes after reinstalling the calipers. Good luck! Now I need to clean everything up and take a new pic for my sig.

When I painted mine, I just painted over the letters, then when the paint dried, I used an exacto knife to scape the paint off the letters. Looks very good that way.

Use a razor blade or, if you can score one, a Dremel.
