I did a search but didn't find the specifc answer to this question.
I've read that the factory exhuaust systems flow very well, so my plan is to install headers and leave the factory cat back in place (I don't need it to be any louder unless there is performance gain).
Do long tube headers mate up to the factory exhuast or do you need to do some cutting of the factory system to get them to fit?

Very cool. My vette experience is limited to my C4 where installing long tubes would have required minor surgery to the factory system since the stock manifolds were much shorter.
