Here is a picture of the painted reservoir on Ole Red a couple of years ago. It has a chrome cover over most of it. There is a better chrome cover available now from CEC (Forum Vendor). Do NOT try to chrome the reservoir itself as there is a magnet impregnated into the plastic so as to trap metal particles. Magnets and Chroming pocesses do not go well together.
