Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. Here's one for all of us who think the console door opens funny. After oiling the pivit points the door is still hard to open and the door want's to close on your hand wile your reaching in. So to fix this litte delima just take your wire cutters and snip part of the spring, in the center of the hinge, where it bends 90 degrees on one side. Now the spring is ineffective and the door goes up easy and stays up. Just use pliers to hold on to the part your cutting off so it doesn't fly around the car or in your eye when you cut it.

It goes up all the way... Try pulling the door toward you as you open it... it is a weird sort of hinge.

I don't understand... the hinge is designed to do that... (dont' know why but it is)

You have to pull towards you first and then up,... there is no problem opening it...

I learned this my first day with my first vet... have never had a problem opening it.. or it opening far enough

I went thru the same trouble when I first got my Z06. Even though I learned the proper way to open up the console lid, it's still a PITA to deal with.
It's like the skip shift feature, you know how to get around it, but you still hate to do it.
