Honestly, that kind of crap really pisses me off, because there is a lot of effort that went into making that car. TO me it is a complete waste.
If he would have hired a designer, or even let an amatuer designer pen something out for him (for free), it could have turned into something truly awesome.
Ok, so it has a stereo that bumps, how often do you turn on the stereo and listen to it 100 yards away?
If he would have put on a one- off wide body kit, with a large TV popping out of the hatch area, it could be viewed as a display vehicle. Now it just looks like a really bad dream.
If you took your car to the Audio /video wizard and gave him a blank check to make the most spectacular AV system on earth, and this is what he delivered, how bad would you beat his Azz?
Seriously, I wish people would consider hiring a designer if they plan on doing ANY self made exterior mods. If you can't draw a stick man but can work on cars, that does not mean you can build someting that looks cool.
Were not cookie cutters. Its his car. He can do whatever he chooses. Did you make his car payments? You would think you wise up and appreciate what different individuals do with their C5s.
Lets see a pic of your vette. There done ranting.
I agree with you to an extent. But there are people out there who are blind to design.
Just because you "can" does not always mean you should.
There are a lot of designers out there who would do a design for free. This is because if they do a good enough job, they will get credit for it in magazines and so on.
In the end, the designer will get recognition which is priceless, and the car builder will get much more credit, and people will want him to work on their car.
Personally, if he offered to do a free build up on my car, after seeing that I would turn it down.
