Performance Air Intake
I'm looking to put a performance air intake on my stock 99. Any recommendations?
Any power and or gas mileage impacts?

I've got a twin cone K&N setup. Seems like most have a Blackwing!

I really like my Blackwing and Volant air filter intake systems. Easy care, AND, easy installation in minutes!

The best performance intake available for the corvette is the Vararam.
It's more difficult to install compared to the blackwing, but the performance gains are the greatest.
With my vararam I cut down .2 tenths just in the 1/8 mile, I'm sure that's closer to .4-.5 tenths at the 1/4 track.

Dont wast time with the others. Get a vararam the first time.

If you hurry you can get a Vararam from TBYRNE while they are still on sale. I bought mine last week.

There are several to choose from out there. I went with the Donaldson Blackwing several years ago. Easy install and maintenance plus pretty good bang-for-the-buck too. The VaraRam seems to have been giving a lot of guys good results also. Especially those that are looking for every last ounce of horsepower at the track. If I were looking for the first time now, I would definitely be giving the Callaway Honker serious consideration. Quality of construction is first class. HTH

Most of the aftermarket intakes are better than the stock ones so you can't go wrong. I just made the leap and went with the new vararam

The Halltech Stinger is very popular and a great intake as well. It includes an upgraded air bridge and a filter for about the same price as the Blackwing which is a filter only.
I run a K&N air filter in a modified stock air box and like it a lot.

Well, the poster did ask about "PERFORMANCE", it's in the title of the thread, maybe he is racing.
