about4 weeks ago abused the **** out of my poor clutch. went to the strip 3 weeks ago. when i get on it (powershift) i still smell clutch pretty strongly. how long will this smell hang around, i've only driven about 200 miles since i did it.
figured as much, it still feels the same. i was hoping i just hazed it and it'd be fine, but i guess not. never stank like this before...time to upgrade!
called 21stcmc but they're closed til next week.

I did the same thing to my clutch this year at the strip. I powershifted 2nd and burned the hell out of the clutch. The smell was terrible and stuck around for at least three weeks if not longer. I thought my clutch was fried but it has been fine all year and evan took a few more powershifts here and there.

that's what i'm hoping, with a little more driving it might work itself out. but in the meantime i have the cash held out for a new one!
It'll be fine untill it starts to slip. You'll notice it at high gear when you hit the gas, the rpms will go up but the car will feel like its going no where.

If you keep abusing it the flywheel will become glazed and slightly warped on the surface so look at a 600$ clutch job + parts. oh well its just an excuse to get a performance clutch!
Mine never slipped, but it was loosing its clamping ability @ the launch at the track. I smelled it once or twice, but never burnt it bad. When it was pulled for the Aussie swap, it had some left, but it was used up, and showed even wear.
IMO it would probably be fine for a while yet, but the test (expensive maybe) would be some track time and see how it does. Good luck!
