Trying to decide on a set of "cheap" rear tires for my 99 FRC.
295 35 18
Street driven only, no rain (if I can help it) or adverse conditions, and I'm looking for good straightline performance - i.e. not spinning through 2nd gear... Not a full out drag radial, but I'd be will to sacrifice a little cornering for better straightline.
Thanks for any help!
also, any reccomendations on where to buy (other than tirerack)?
there's no such thing as a CHEAP 295/35-18 tire - i too am looking for a similar set for my C4
the cheapest i have seen is Firestone Firehawks at tirerack.com
and they are $188 ea.
the next "cheapest tire" is a KDW - tire rack is actually even cheaper than costco on those (costco is $245 or $250 i forget and i think tirerack is $239) and they only go UP in price from there!
My kumho's have been great, although they are gone now and needing replacement...I was thinking of trying out the Firestone Wide Ovals, they have been getting some pretty decent reviews and are actually cheaper...
