Opinions on car
I'm considering buying vettemaster's 98 C5 which he has pretty heavily moded. I am looking for a stricly DD for myself and am a little unsure if the mods he has would be more suited to an autox (which he did with the car) than a DD. I wanted to get some peoples opinions who might have these mods or similar.
The driveline mod list is:vara-ram , billet throttle body ,ls6 intake , ls6 valley cover, small comp cams camshaft, comp cams pushrods , comp cams 1.85 roller rockers , ls6 valve springs , stage 3 ported heads/big valves , arp rod bolts, kooks stainless long tube headers/high flow cats/crossover pipe , stock mufflers , 4.10 gears/stock converter ,dyno-jet wide band 02 setup , ls1 edit included (list stolen from his fs ad
)I am not familiar with all these mods, so my first question is are these likely to negatively affect the lifespan of the motor (given that you're running up in the RPM band)?
What do you all think about the 4.10 rear end (it is an automatic trans) with the kooks headers? Is this going to be extremely loud or droning in the car?
Does it matter with the 4.10 gears and stock converter? If I'm not racing, do I need a high stall speed converter?
Anyone out there with the A4 and 4.10 gears, what are you getting gas mileage wise?
Obviously I will need to drive
the car myself to determine if it is a right fit, but before I fly out there, any opinions/experiences would be helpful to know
