Default undercarriage screen

I know I saw a post about someone who put a screen under the car to trap the debris, plastic bags etc from being sucked up against the radiator. I've searched and searched and can't find it now.

Any help would be appreciated.

I got mine from Elite Engineering. High quality product and very easy to install. I bought the Zinc coated model, as they did not offer the black powder coated screen when I purchased mine. I probably would have gone with the black if I had the choice.

It looks like something that would easily be made from Home Depot screening, doesn't it?
Does this actually work and make a difference? Always looking for something new myself!

I've had one of the Elite products on my car for almost a year. It's very effective, still looks great and most of all it doesn't rattle around because it's made from good quality materials.

Mid America sells this one:

West Coast Corvettes sells this one:

As others have indicated, Elite Engineering sells this one:

Here is a forum thread arguing the merits of a DIY screen vs. a purchased one:

This looks like a good idea and a decent product. I have a few questions if anyone cares to respond to them.

1. Can the smaller stuff still get up through the screen and then collect on the rad/cond. And if so...

2. Can you see up into the radiator/condenser area once the screen is in place? And if so...

3. Is the screen easy to remove/replace to get to that small stuff?

4. You can see the front screws on the screen. Is it also attached securely at the aft end, or is it just wedged in at the top of the air dam?

5. Finally, does it in any way affect the flexing/folding of the air dam when it encounters an obstacle?

Thanks,
Tom

Just needed the original post I saw (before all the extraneous comments )

Sounds like a good idea regardless of how you make/get it.

Paul

Bought the above WestCoastCorvette unit for Christmas. I haven't installed it yet, but came it in fast and looks like a quality unit (and I like that it is aluminum instead of coated steel).

Many of the vendors sell a screen like you describe. Just based on what I have had to clean out of the front of my radiator, it probably is not a bad thing to have. If you are handy with tools, you can probably make one yourself for a lot less money.
