Default WebElectric 3rd Brake Light Flasher

A few months back, there had been reports (on this forum and elsewhere) of the WebElectric brake light pulser causing AH/TC issues. At the time, the unit required the installer to hardwire the unit. That being the case, I concede the possibility that the problems were caused by user error.

I now see that the product is a plug-n-play module. Has anyone had problems or heard of any issues with the new assembly?

I bought my sequentials from WebElectric and have had nothing but success with the product. I did not buy my third brake light pulser from them, only because I wanted the plug and play and ended up bying from another forum vendor. I would suspect based on the quality of their other products and attention to customer service, you will not have any problems with their third brake light. I would not hesistant to buy one from them.

I have both and not a single problem. Both are "plug and play". Customer service, Larry, is top notch and available!

I can't imagine why there would be any difference whatsoever. Mine (brake pulser) had to be hardwired in, but it was soldered in place then wrapped with tape.

But, yes, If I turn on the hazard flashers with the engine running in neutral (MN6), my DIC will throw AH/TC messages. It requires an ignition off and re-start to clear the messages.

For those w/ plug and play, I'd like to see if any of you would get the same messages while hazard flashers are on. NOTE -- the third brake light is NOT in the loop while hazard flashers are on. Only comes on when brake pedal pushed, but must somehow be interconnected.

I have had both - and the problem turned out to be completely unrelated.

I bought the hardwired version and sequential tail lights and started having TC/AH problems as well as turn signal would not work on occasion. I spoke to Lawrence of WebElectric - and he sent me a plug and play 3rd brake light flasher FREE OF CHARGE!!!!!!!!! No questions asked!!!

Awesome customer service!!!

I changed it out and was still having the problem. It turned out to be my hazard light switch that was faulty - and it had NOTHING to do with the WebElectric products.

I changed my hazard switch for a new GM unit and I have been trouble free ever since.

I can't enough good things about Lawrence and WebElectric. Stand up guy, unbelievable customer service and great products!!

Thanx gang -- the sharing of information and experiences is what makes this forum so invaluable! diyguy describes a very precise scenario when his acts up. I would be interested if anyone can duplicate this... particularly with the plug-n-play unit. OTOH, Stephen's problem turned out to be a faulty OEM hazard switch, so maybe it is a common issue (unrelated to WebElectric).

The feedback thus far seems overwhelmingly positive, so I'm inclined to give it a try (unless a bunch of people chime in that they can duplicate diyguy's failure mode).

Default 3rd brake light pulsar

Larry is a stand up guy and will take care of you. The problem with the pulsar has been fixed and all plug and play units now have an added resistor to prevent any error messages. Had mine now for over 6 months now with no error messages and very happy with ther WebElectrics products. I would post this in the posting but felt it not right to discuss the old problem openly. Some people could take it as bashing or that the unit has a problem! Any further questions, please don't hesitae to ask. I am all for Larry and his products!!!

The hazard is very common, I have discovered since my problems with it. Connecticut bought a 99 FRC and had the same problem on his drive home from the dealership. And several others have reported this problem in C5 Tech.

I think the cause and effect thinking is - what did I last mod - therefore that must be the problem. Which turns out to be erroneous! So my thought patterns were - I installed WebElectric products - therefore that is the problem. Boy, was I wrong. I am just glad that Lawrence is such a stand up guy - no questions asked - just sent me a new unit.

And all it proved was my problem solving skills were incorrect.

I've had them for a year now and I love them. Get a lot of compliments from other Vette owners. Civilians think it's stock

I have both. And my CHMSL blinker was the older hard-wired version. Haven't had any problems.

I did have one of my modules go bad and contacted Webelectric and after some conversations, making sure "T" knew what the problem he fixed it for free and helped me out for free.

I recommend them!
