Default 02 Trans Conversion

We've got an 02 Z06. I lost my rt leg about a year ago and hate to part with our baby. Anyone know of a reliable A/T vendor who offers a conversion from the std 6 spd Tremac?

With all due respect (and sorry to hear about your misfortune), wouldnt it be more economical to trade for a regular C5 with an Auto (and perhaps upgrade the engine to Z specs)?

This is probably the cheaper route in all honesty. A few simple bolts and a cam swap and you'll be ahead of a (stock) C5 Zoh on power.

But you have a Zoh, you love it and I comend you for doing what it takes to keep her. Where are you located? Obvioulsy you'll need to find a shop locally to do the work (unless you are mechanically inclined and have the tools and space to do the work). After that I bet you'll have NO problem finding a 'vette owner w/ a A4 who would love to swap for a M12. So you'd really only be paying the labor. Hell, I'd honestly bet you can find somebody who'd want to split the labor at a minimum, if not pay the labor to get your M12.

Thanks for the input. I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, FL area. Would opt for the A4 done by local vendor option. You know what the A4 can handle for max torque? I'm also considering adding a Procharger which will net out 525 lb-ft at the flywheel.

Give Rodney at RPM Transmissions a call and talk to him about a conversion - http://www.rpmtransmissions.com

Your are going to have to change over to a flex plate, converter, and A4 trans, plus the shift mechanism. Your 3.42:1 final drive gear set is probably just right for a street car.

I talked to them and they are a little busy for this conversion right now. But they will build the tranny. The gave me the name and number of someone that does this fairly regularly in Indiana. PM me if anyone is interested. I talked to him this morning and he seems like a good guy who knows what he is doing.

It is around 2K labor for everything except the tuning. I figure another 3K in parts if you buy everything new.
