Default Which CLB

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the column lock bypass kits sold by various vendors??

I have the service column lock message and it is time to get the bypass. Luckily car is in garage for the Ohio winter.

Don't know if there is much difference in the kits, but I got mine from Thunder Racing. Easy to install and works perfect. Corvettes of Houston also sells the kit and have heard good things about them.

If your column is locked, you have to get it unlocked before installing the CLB. Just an FYI.

Got mine from Corvettes of Houston. Just installed it today. Hardest part was fitting the bottom panel again - could not get the holes to line up for the screws. Plus I found some bad wiring from a previous owner's stereo install I had to repair before I buttoned it up.

It would have been tougher without the sticky - the instructions that came with the bypass were ok but the sticky and the referenced links are what really got me through it.

I have a 2001 vette. What are the odds that I am going to be needing this? Is this a certainty over time?? Thanks for any response... Should I keep doing my prayers...

My 2001 MN6 Vert had the dealer recall performed twice.... by the previous owner.
Within the first week I had the DIC service column lock message.
I ordered the COH CLB... before it arrived the column locked, but thanks to the sticky ... I was able to unlock it.
The day the CLB arrived I installed it..... problem free since then.

Why risk getting stranded? Just install it and be safe.

There is no time/mileage number for the column to lock up. My '98 had 18K on it when it decided to crap out. Spend the fifty bucks, give yourself an hour and a beer (or lemonade) and you'll be worry free!
