I am another one of you guys who had the headlight go crazy this weekend.
I just bought my C5 and the previous owner replaced the gear for me in the headlight before I took possession.
Within a week the driver side headlight began continued opening and closing four or five cycles before settling either properly closed or slighly up.
I took it over to the dealership this morning because I just didn't want to mess with it. They charged $120 in labor to disassemble the light and then reassemble properly.
I told them of the forum entry I saw on here where if you don't put it back together right it will malfunction as I described.
They didn't charge me for any parts.
I have included a copy of the receip to see if any of you can read dealer language on the codes.
well u had a recall done and they removed and replaced and repaired (more like removed and repaired then replaced) the headlight linkage assembly...and they charged you an hour and half labor to do it...it probally took 20 min...the B7...stuff is their listing for what they should charge, its the time they "Flag" for it, and below that it says CP for customer pay so they charged you full rate intstead of what GM warranty would pay. as long as it works i'd say u are good.
