I recently read here on the forum about autoasscessoriesstore.com having thinner brushed aluminum dash trim parts. So I checked it out, read all about their processes and ordered a set. I get it and its as advertised .010 thick but that included the .004 backing paper thickness. No problem I'll send it back, which is a bit of a process, but then I find out a 20% restocking charge is assessed. It seems to me that's how they make there money for this junk, because as it turned out that is exactly what it was, JUNK.

It's early in the morning and I'm probably missing the point entirely, but if you ordered the trim pieces because they are thinner than other vendors, and when you get it, it's .010 including the backing, when you remove the backing, it would be even thinner, wouldn't it? Does it look crappy? Like I said, I'm probably missing something.
It would help us understand what you are telling us if you had some pictures of the items that you ordered.
I am going to assume that you received the stick-on dash trim parts and they were not of the quality that you anticipated.
Stuff like that happens all the time, unfortunately.
I do not necessarily agree that sellers should charge exhorbitant "restocking" fees, but that is entirely my opinion.
I am sorry that you got bit on this one - but at least it was only for 20% of the cost of dash stick-on trim parts - you might just have dodged a bullet on that one anyway...
best regards -

Not uncommon for some vendors to charge a restocking fee - at least they advertise it that way. Sometimes you can get them to waive the fee if your reason for returning is good. I guess I see your point that one could be led to believe that the aluminum itself was .010" thick.
I also tought that thinner would be better but they were so thin it looked more like a decal than real aluminum the pieces were also poorly cut, and not what they advertised.
