I went out to Captree State Park for my Sunday morning drive only to find 4 NYS Troopers swooping down on Vettes in the parking lot. They seemed to be checking License plates. I left not wanting to be a statistic.
Anybody know if there is more to this story? Is this a start of something?
I hope not. First Oak Beach, then this. Too much to bear!

I was going to go today but I haven't been feeling well the last week. Were they checking for front plates. I keep mine on the dash board in a clear case just for that kind of thing
Damn, 4 troopers out looking for no front plate? Jesus, aren't there any unsolved crimes they could be out solving? Let's go after those dangerous Corvette guys. WTF?
I saw a NICE carrera GT on southern state today. So beautiful. The engine screams like bruce lee, sounds so strange. I bet he was headed toward captree/robert moses.

Did you actually see anyone getting tickets? Or were the Troopers just cruising the lot like they do every sunday???
Last year , when they assaulted the OBI, I believe it was in response to a Porsche that made them chase him at over 100mph. Plus he had his two little kids in the car!!
And NO!!!!! There are no serious crimes for them to worry about on a sunday until after the drunks have left the bars following their teams loss!!!!!
You might want to throw this up in the NE section to see if any Troopers chime in!!!!
The Troopers were at the entrance on the grass when I arrived. They started in as I reached the area in front of the Restaurant. I parked nose in along the South side
As I got out of my car they drove down different lanes then stopped at a White C5 that was parked with the motor off. Each State car was parked facing different directions, two Troopers got out and started talking to the owner. Words were exchanged, Law was quoted. One Trooper started moving down the lanes.
I watched for a bit and then decided that it was prudent for me to leave as did about a dozen others.
I was at Oak Beach last year when the Porsche incident happened. I was riding my Bike and got there just as the Tow Trucks arrived and the lot was closed.
I learned afterward that the guy parked the Porsche got out and tried to hide in the parking lot. I understand that the top was down and one kid was standing up when he was chased. I don't know if that part of the story is true or not.
