Been following header installs on the forum for the last year. There sure has been quite a few problems during and after the install. Do all of you that have street driven cars think this mod is worth it? What would you do different If anything.... Great info on here.
How bad do you want 25RWHP the car is louder and it usually needs retuned.Cam/Heads go great with LTHeaders.where do we stop?NEVER!!!Once you start you always want just a little more POWER.......................Done Mine and love it o'ya it gets loud enough you don't have to worry about loud run crap tires,LOL
When I did my headers, I had no inclination to do H/C later. I just wanted
the extra hp and improved sound (IMO) headers provide. I did have mine
installed by LGM and have had NO problems. Would never go back. Headers
and Stingers on a bolts-on mods only C5 is a wonderful thing!
Worth every penny (Dynatechs) would not change a thing. Had a buddy who is an experienced mechanic help me intsall...so far no problems after 3k miles. I still need to tune the car, but there is a definite SOTP difference, and the sound, well I just love it.
The dealer did all my bolts ons in my sig for $700.00 when they were re-ringing my car for excessive oil usage. I noticed a little more SOTP HP, but to tell you the truth it didnt seem like much. Yes louder, but to me, it didnt seem like much more power.
But after installing my baby cam TR224, I really noticed the SOTP after 3500 RPM.
I bought AFR 205s but havent installed them yet. I hope to notice the differance. Ive been think of adding a 100 shot while the heads and manifold are off, but Im not sure if I will pull the trigger on that .
I think the headers didnt do much, but diffenantly makes everything after that much better.
no problems with my headers from day 1....TPIS...not everyones favorite but I like them and they haven't given me any issues...alot of the headers mentioned above weren't available back then...LGs only at that point and I just couldnt see spending that kind of money
Headers are the best mod IMO... wish I would have done it sooner. First mod should always be Headers/Catback/Intake IMO
110%
I went with Kooks 1 3/4, high flow cats and X-Pipe...best mod to date...great seat of the pants kick and I also have a Z06 catback...so at highway speed its not loud at all, but when you stop on it...it just screams!
they are expensive, but I would say if you plan on doing any future mods (heads and cam) you will need them...I have this in my future, but in the meantime I love the sound of headers! just MEAN!
