Was a guy here a couple/three years or so ago who stripped and polished his mags himself. It was a lot of work he said but they came out looking gorgeous. He'd posted pics but I doubt they are to be found in the archives anymore.

I am also in the middle of stripping and polishing my polished Aluminum wheels .

Apparently the best stripper to use is a household paint stripper that is a brush on Gel... from JASCO at hardware stores and Home depot.

I have used Jasco paint stripper - that is some badazz stripper. Should suck the clearcoat right off. Don't get any on your skin, though - it'll strip that right off too.
