Shifter ****
Can you tell me how to remove the standard shift **** from my 2000 6-speed? I want to replace it with an after-market item. Thanks.

Or, once you get the shifting diagram cap off, put a soft cloth on the edge of the shifter ****, use a flat bladed screwdriver to get underneath the lip of that "demon key" and carefully pop it off/out. Then unscew the ****.

Note - the key is not welded, cemented, glued, cast in place, or threaded into the stick.
It just feels like it.
