I don’t have the CD changer just the single CD player in the dash. But I seen a post about some Apple Ipod wired to plug into the CD changer harness. So this leads me to wonder. Can I wire an Mp3 player into the harness & use it? Would be almost nicer than having a CD changer. Can anyone please supply me with a pin out of the harness in the back that connects to the CD changer? I can then use this as a map to wire in a MP3 player & stop flipping through CD’s. Please help.
Do you have the harness in the trunk? They do not come pre wired. You'll need the COR-HAR that runs from the passanger footwell to the rear storage compartment. Then the Ipod to car adapter.

To be honest I haven’t looked. But from what you say then I guess its not there. I just figured that they would have incorporated the wiring to be there so it would be easy to install a cd changer if desired.
Thanks, Too bad I don’t have a schematic of that thing also. I could just build it for less than what they are asking for it.
You may not know this, but the head units AUX inputs won't activate unless it sees valid serial data coming from the factory CD changer. The serial data line carries commands back-n-forth between the head unit and CD changer (for such commands as song skip, disk select, ....etc).
The PIE adapter has circuitry that mimicks the data stream - and fools the head unit into believing there is a GM CD changer connected... and that's how they get the HU to activate the L/R AUX inputs.
So, not only would you need to mimick the proper serial data bitstream logic levels and cadance, but then you'd need to mimick the bitstream language so that you are sending the HU valid serial data.
I have never been able to find a spec published for the Delco serial bitstream electrical format - or it's language.
it would be cheaper to buy the adapter module (and you'd lose a lot less hair that way)...
