Default 50th anniversary coupe: how much?

I just drove the car this morning. The Chevy dealer wants 42,900 for it. It is a six speed with 16,000 miles. It drove just fine, although I thought the steering was a bit touchy on center. What is a reasonable price for the car? Excuse my ignorance, but I have never dealt with a dealer before. I know what I want, however, and I am very patient.

New the MSRP was about $51K. Some dealers marked them up as much a $8K so you have a lot of variables.

I's say that's a bit high........but it is low miles........basically...I don't know why I responded !

Good Luck

I usually say that the people on CF value their cars too low, but that price is insane. I paid 2K more than that for my loaded vert BRAND NEW. That car is about 10K too high. I highly suggest you look through the C5s for sale section here.

That price is way to high.

I would think that car should sell for about 35-37K.

I don't know much about Vermont and the price of Vettes. In Orlando, that would be high. Rogers Corvettes of Orlando has severl, including some convertables (50th anniversary). They have the following coupe. Don't know if that helps - FYI:

2003 50th Anniversary Edition Coupe (14576) 2003 50th Anniversary Coupe-1,200 Miles
50th Anniversary Red/Shale Leather, Automatic, Dual Power Sport Seats, Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Memory Package, Fog Lamps, Floor Mats, Power Telescoping Steering Column, Heads Up Display, CD Player, F-55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Electrochromatic Mirrors, Twilight Sentinel, License Plate Frame, The 50th Anniversary Package Commemorates/Celebrates 50 Years Of Corvette Production and Glory. The Package Includes Special/Specific Exterior and Interior Color, Special Exterior/Interior Badging/Emblems and Special Wheels, 50 State Low Emission Vehicle, Approved For Sale To Residents Of California, Factory Window Sticker With Original MSRP of $49,010, Just Under 1,300 Miles
1,300 Miles .... $41,900

I think it's high. I would not pay more than 39k and would expect the dealer to include a 4 year GM warrentee and four new GY runflats.

BTW, You can buy a NEW 2006 C6 for $39,990 from Kerbeck in Atlantic City, NJ.

I wouldn't pay over $35k for it. Just because it's an anniversary edition doesn't make it worth thousands more. I believe most price guides give that option about $1000-$1500. Other than that it's just another 03 Vette.

I just bought a 2003 coupe non anniversary edition with 10,XXX miles and it blue booked over $37,000.00 and I paid $34,900.00 for it.Before I bought it I did a search and couldn't find another 2003 electron blue mn6 with that low of miles for less, within a 1,000 miles of me so I bought it.The ones I found farther away wasn't much cheaper and nowhere near cheap enough to make it worth traveling that far for it.Could have bought lots of other colors cheaper but I wanted electron blue.I would rather pay more for what I want than less for what I don't want just because it's a good deal.I do think that price sounds alittle high but I would do a search and see if you can find the same car for less and if not check the blue book on it.If it is not over blue book and you can't find a better deal that is worth traveling for and you know this is the car you want then go for it.What really matters is what is it worth to you.Good Luck!

It sounds pretty high. You can find out pricing on NADA.com, Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds.com.
There are lots of 50th's for sale out there. Come by the registry and visit sometime. www.50thregistry.com

Good point, he didn't really say it was an AE car.

The AE option to a 2003 coupe does add a few dollars, not a lot, but maybe $1-2k
