Default Which tunnel plate?

I am buying or making a tunnel plate. What is better 3/8" aluminum or 0.134" stainless. All I am trying to do is stiffen things up. Will be putting on Bilstens and Z06 sway bars also.

From what I remember from a previous discussion, I believe the SS is stronger, although it is a bit thinner. Anyone else?? I believe Elite Engineering has a decent plate.

I like the Elite as well. The only dissapointment was I did not seem to get the sheilding effects form the long tube heat asI would have like. I installed a DEI blanket and it a lot cooler now.

Jim,

The stiffest plate we offer is the 3/8" thick aluminum version. It has about the same heat shielding effects as our stainless steel, but is much stiffer.

I hope that helps, Jeff
