Well, I finally received my new chrome Z06 wheels from Bob at house of wheels, so I decided to have my virtually new Michelin runflats mounted on them today. I dont have any pictures yet as I had to drive directly to school after I had them mounted up and it was dark once I got out! As soon as it gets light out, Ill get some good pictures an post them up! Now on to the bad part. While the car was in the air, I decided to take a look around and check out the common problem areas and just to keep check on the boys installing the tires and wheels! Well, I think I found a type of fuel leak but I need your help to confirm. I took a picture on my camera phone as it was all I had but it should get the job done. This picture shows, what I think is the fuel filter, with a thin film of gasoline over it. It is located on the driver side and is located just above where the over-axel pipe connects to the h-pipe (you can actually see the flanges in the pic) Why is there gasoline here? I dont think this is normal, especially since the hot exhaust is right there. I checked for dripping and didnt see any and i checked my garage floor and didnt see anything. But this thin film still scares me. Whats going on here?

If in fact it is gasoline, then you are right - it should not be there. Perhaps your fuel filter has a small hole in it or the fuel line connections are not tight. Best to get it checked out soon.
Just while the car was in the air, I was looking for loose connections (both going in and coming out). I was moving them around a bit and it seems like the tube going into the left side of the fuel filter snapped in further, I doubt this was the problem and I doubt it was loose, especially if it is under pressure (you'd think if it were loose, it would come completely off) hellifiknow...thanks for your help! Ill get it looked at!
The hose connections have a little "play", as an o-ring makes the seal internally. However, the question is this: Is the area around the filter really wet or just damp. IMHO, if it's really wet, yes, you have a leak. If it's only damp, it might be fuel left over from splashing out when the filter was changed sometime in the past.

Thats what I figured. Id have to say that it is damp. Like I said, I looked for dripping and didnt see any signs, however, you can see where gas has touched on the panel the filter is mounted to. Kind of a big area. When I touched it with my finger and pulled away, I had a spot of fuel on my finger tip. I defintely think theres some kind of leak. I dont think the filter has ever been changed. It currently has 44000 miles on it. Its prolly time for a new one anyway.
Although I like the painted on flames, I dont want any "real" flames on mine!
Thanks guys!!
