Default function before fashion

is this theory out the window these days?

seems more and more people care about how good things look more so than how they work.

am i the only one that doesnt overly care if something isnt completely perfect but as long as it works, and works real hard.

I like mods that give you a little of both... like tinted windows look great AND keep the interior cooler (and shield your stufff from curious eyes). Also, next on my wish list is grey Z06 wheels. I really want the look, but since they're wider it's also a performance upgrade, right?

I don't think I'd ever spend much money on purely cosmetic stuff, though. But I could justify a riser hood by getting a supercharger... Hmm..

I think we all spend too much time caring about what other people think. You choose function over fashion. The next guy chooses fashion over function, is either of you wrong? No, those are your respective opinions and you are both entitled to them, I mean, it is your car. We should all just do what makes us happy. We also should in turn respect what makes other people happy aobut their car. If someone asks me for my opinion I'll give it. Not with the intention of changing their mind but because they asked. What they choose to do with it is entirely up to them. What I try not to do is offer my opinion where it isn't wanted.

If I'm not trying to go faster why should I only consider NOS, head and cam or super charging as a modification. If I want new wheels on the car because I like the way they look, I don't care how much they weigh and I wish people would stop telling me that they are heavy.

We all have different personalities and we all have different things that we want from our cars. Isn't that enough?

Paul

***Edit*** I forgot to answer your original question. I absolutely need it to look good in my eyes as well as function good. People "see" things. Most people will never get a chance to experience how my car performs. I won't have something poorly fitting or shoddily installed that "gets the job done". All of this is of course, just my .02. (maybe .015 )

Some things I do simply for the looks, while others help in the function department. Just depends on what it is and how well I like the change.
