Recently got this code on a friend's 97 corvette. Replaced fuel filter, made sure air bridge was attached, oxygen sensors checked out, using premium fuel. What else can be checked to get rid of this light. If there was a vacuum leak would the check engine light stay on all the time? The light comes on and goes off intermittenly. HELP
your fault is for bank 2[right/passengers side]running rich.did you pull the plugs and look at them?are the right sides black[if you pulled them]?if the o2 sensors are original/old i would bet that the o2 is bad[would be easy to see if you had a scanner],swap the o2 sensors side to side,if you end up with 174[left bank running rich],the o2 is bad.this theory is if all checks out[if you have enough air going in and not dumping fuel].you said it's intermittant that's why i say the o2,be it the sensor/connection/wiring to the pcm.you said the o2's checked out.what were their voltages? switching time? and what were the fuel trims on bank 2,both long term/short term?
