Default key fob and driver memory question

I switched my key fobs the other day because one broke. Now when I put my key in it goes to the driver 2 memory setting. I have tried just pushing driver one then holding down driver two..... so that they will be exactly the same (since i am the only driver). but that didnt work.

Can I make it recognize that key as key one, or how do I make the driver 2 settings exactly like driver 1??

You have to reprogram the FOBs through the DIC (at least this is what I did on my 97). Once you access the section where you begin the reprogram, you start with that FOB and since you dont have a second, just finish the procedure. I think the reprogram can handle 3 FOBs if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, the order in which you reprogram them is the order for which the memory reacts.

Yep, reprogram your FOB through the DIC. Right nwo it recognizes it as the second FOB so it'll automatically read memory setting 2. Reprogram and it'll read it as the first FOB, activating memory 1 instead.
