incorrect oil pressure reading

incorrect oil pressure reading
The digital oil pressure gauge on my '98 Corvette is reading 130 psi and the analog gauge is pinned at 80 psi. Is the likely cause of this incorrect reading the oil pressure sending unit or could there be another cause. If it is the oil pressure sending unit, can anyone tell me where Chevy hid it?

Yes it is the oil sending unit.
I just had the same problem with my '98 a few weeks ago. Yes, it is the sending unit. It is located in a place such that the intake manifold has to be removed to replace the unit. The dealer wanted $375 to do the repair, I found an independent Corvette speciality shop that did it for about $225.

The sending unit is most likely the culprit. Replace it and all should be back to normal.
