I know this doesn't help alot but I had mine replaced under warranty. Even the GM dealer sub'd it out to a local upholstery shop that specializes in vert tops. Service writer said they don't do enough of them to guarantee a quality job so they sub them. Point being is be sure the shop you use does alot of tops before you let them touch the Vette.

I just paid $1,250 for a new Robbins top. Looks great, just like factory quality. Done at Dixie Tops in Hallandale Beach, FL, a bit far for you to drive I guess but it's a data point for you.

The woman running the shop told me I ruined my old top by applying the Raggtop sealer without waiting long enough for the top to dry. It looked dry to me after a few hours but she said wait a day or two at least to be sure it's dry or you will get mildew spots like I had.

Mine is needing replaced also. Checking around for a good installer is key. I found a local one and they recommend a Robins top as well - they don't care if I buy it and bring it in or they order it for me.
Hope to have it done this spring.

My standard reply for upholstery/cartop work: check with your local Porsche/BMW/Mercedes dealer. Maybe not the cheapest, but they have a tough crowd to please.

Seems that VetteTech is highly recommended when it comes to vette bodywork and painting but I'm not sure if they do tops as well. If they don't then they probably could steer you in the right direction. I would like to know this as well.

If you go to gahh.com and get in there web site. They list the tops for our cars and on the bottom of the page there is a little box for installers. I went there andthey listed about 8 installers for our area. Hopes this helps.

Might want to post on the forum in the WTB. I got a brand new top from a member for $275 still in the box. It was a higher quality top and I payed $225 to put it on. GM wanted $1300 for the top and installation. Good luck. Jim
