How much does the ride quality suffer if you lower it about an inch? Just want to know before I drop it. My camaro rode so bad I had to sell it. It was like it had no shocks just solid mounts.
Only if you install longer bolts in the rear. If you just lower it on stock bolts it's fine.
I lowered mine on the stock bolts in the rear and cut the bushings in the front and I am very happy with my setup--though I am ready to get longer bolts to lower mine more--just not as low as the Grond who has lowered his car further than any I have seen

I lowered mine on stock bolts and backed out the front bolts and things are good to go, I have cut the bushings in the past and it was just to low for the places I had to go.
Ride quality was not impacted at all, if you ask me.
But needing professional help and sick hp Vettes are quite ok in my book I can not wait to see your finished build up as I am happy at the moment with mine--I see an F1R in my car as I get used to my current level, oh I do want to have one of those 800+ cars later not just the 700+ I have now
Lowering your car an inch will only improve your ride, if we are talking handling. A stock base vette has the "caddy float" feel and has a lot of body roll. The three very inexpensive mods that you can do is go with better firmer shocks like Bilsteins, Z06 sway bars, and lower your car on its stock bolts. This is relitively cheap if you do the work yourself and will make a tremendous difference on the way your car handles. Oh, and it will be a whole lot more fun to drive! Also, get rid of your runcraps if you still have them.
I lowered mine by removing all but 1/8 inch of the front bushings and getting longer rear bolts from WCC. The ride quality suffered tremendously and the front didn't go quite as low as I wanted so I'm slowly picking up the rear 1/4 inch at a time. Noticing that it rides better and I don't scrape as much every time I raise it 1/4 inch in the back
