Default My "new" 2002!

Hello all,

I am an old Vette guy... had a "69" with the 427 / 435... should have kept it with the prices they fetch today!

I just bought my first vette in over 20 years .... 2002, quicksilver, sport seats, dual zone air, polished wheels and glass roof.... 7500 miles, perfet condition for $ 28,000!!!

Questions for all as I am new to this (again):

1. What door sill plates are you all puting in your cars...
2. Upgrades to yur stereo?
3. Tinting?
4. Other cool modes that won't make it look like a "boy racer / rice burner"

Glad to be back, vette owners are the best!

Thanks,
mcmtac

Welcome back to the family......again..

You're going to love the C5, definately a new standard which all other vettes are being measured by.....

As far as mods, you'll want to lower it first thing.....(I just did a thread on it if you care to check)

There are too many visual mods to list, go to westcoastcorvette or midamerican or ecklers or corvettecentral any of those will give you some good ideas......to each his own. For go fast goodies, I'd say......

Exhaust, as you know owning a 69 beast, is going to have to go along with some new Long Tube headers.

Intake needs to be changed out as well, I suggest the vararam as the best "cold" air intake on the market.

Good luck.
Josh

Welcome to the Dark-Side, luke. I agree with JoshVette about the Varam intake. It is nice. If i'm not mistaken you don't want to use that in nasty weather for fear of water locking your engine. If you are using your Vette as a daily driver (like many others and me) the blackwing high flow filter works great (and you take out the original airbox to make the car look that much cooler). As you know, your car is an american classic no matter how old. Please don't rice it up or put soy-sauce additives in the motor.

Welcome Back,
John

Lots of folks leave them alone. Most of the regulars here are mod addicted and there just insn't any cure.

Hit the Corvette Store here on the forum (Red button on the left) and just start asking questions. Also ask the online retailers for catalogs. Mid America Motorsports, Zip, LAPD, Ecklers, Corvette Central... they go on and on. As for the Q's you asked -

1. Clear covers (protection only)
2. No stereo mods yet, but i plan to wire in an Ipod 1st, speakers 2nd
3. I put a tint called platinum on mine. It has a slight silver reflection, but is not the old mirror tint. It depends on the color whether to go Black or some other tint. I think it depends on the color paint. I put swatches of both on the windows, stood back and took a look.
4. Most C5 mods are tasteful, but everyone has thier own preference. Most owners change out the airbox for the Z06 or aftermarket pieces, cat-backs, wheels and tires. From there, the sky is the limit.

Congrats. A lot of good folks here with different tastes so you'll get a ton of info and pics on any mod you may be considering. Most people here are happy to help.
