I am searching for a good extended warrranty for my 03 ZO6 with 20,000 miles. I am in Central California The warranty was up last month so can't use G.M. I would like to hear from anyone with suggestions on a good company & what plans are suggested.
Your help is appreciated.

There was a Post on here last week and someone said AAA offered a good extended warranty plan. Worth checking into.
Rsty
I posted the AAA warrranty. I am in PA and had to get it from an AAA club in Florida. Not all AAA clubs offer it. But as long as you belong to AAA somewhere the FL club will sell it to you. Nice thing is it's also backed by AAA so if the company goes under AAA will switch you to a new company at no charge for the same coverage.

How did you let the factory warranty expire without checking into the GMPP? There are more and more dealers offering the GM extended warranty at discounted prices, so I don't know why anyone would pass up the GM warranty for an aftermarket warranty.
I have read about several aftermarket warranty companies going out of business, so I don't think I would ever buy one if I had the option of the GM warranty.
Doesn't help you since you let the factory warranty expire, but maybe it will serve as a warning to others nearing the end of their factory warranty.

you can still purchase a gmpp service contract. i put a 3 year 30k on mine with a $100 deductable. they are available and are the most comprehensive for your car out there. just make sure its gmpp "major gaurd." there is everything from 1yr 12k to 4yr 60k still for you
I talked to 2 dealers at 21 days after the warranty replied. They both told me that I could not get the G.M. warranty and that They only offered the Universal policy at $3000. Anyway where would I purchase this particular warranty. I talked to a dealer that is a sponsor on the forum and he said there was nothing he could do because the warranty expired.
Thanks for the answer I would like to have the warranty.
they are telling you that because you need to have a mechanical inspection done on the car prior to the policy purchase. from the dealer that sells it. the other universal may have a no inspection requirement. but... with it will also come atleast a thirty day "grace" period untill the policy is enforced. and they will "pre existing" you to death afterward. G.M.P.P. sells used vehicle service contracts on cars out of factory warranty. mine is a 2000 cpe with 30700 miles when i got it in october 05. i purchased a gmpp for 36mo/30k $100 ded from dlr for $1330. it had day one coverage and has allready paid for itself. i would tell you to buy one from the store i work at but you need the mechanical inspection done and that causes a problem. your local chev dlr can sell you one call a few locals and tell them you allready talked to gmpp. then they will sell you it rather than the after market one. if you want you can look up gmpp on line in a search and there is a way to call a rep there. hope this answers the questions.
Well thaks for the info. I will just keep trying the options offered. Anymore suggestions/thoughts would be great.
I do not care for the no warranty feeling.

Another thing to consider would be a dealer backed warranty. I have a local dealer here who I have a lot of confidence in. He sells his own warranty as well as the GMPP. I extended my warranty for 4 years or 40,000 miles from the time the regular GM warranty runs out. The cost was $1,700 for NO deductable. Only requirements are that I let them do the needed repairs if I'm within 40 miles of the dealer when I have the problem. If i'm not I have a toll free number to call and they do the rest. I think this is similar to the way Warranty Direct handles their claims. I think the key is to do as much shopping as you can but if you have a dealer that you feel good about, that would be a starting point.
Good luck

thats how our aftermarket warranties work. we reinsure them. our s/c company is national warranty. administered thru P.I.P.I. in eugene oregon. they have similar coverage options as gmpp. unfortunately they cost alot moe for some cars/trucks. z06 for example is very spendy
i really think for this guy, and others in his position. low mile vettes the best cost wise is to go to local chev dlr, pay the $100-$150 for a full mechanical inspection. then buy the gmpp to fit their driving needs. i have sold tens of thousands of ext warranties in my 20 years in the car biz. and thats the way i have done all mine on my used car purchases personally. compare the coverage and term and price then go with what works for your needs.
