I purchased the static cling overlays from Mid America.
I put them on and the next day they all fell off.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I am doing anything wrong?
I made sure that the surface was clean.
Now when I try and put them on, they just slide off?
Do these overlays work?
Did I just waste $20.

Are you referring to the static cling blackouts for the lights? If so, I've had mine on for over a year now and they cling like grim death. I believe the directions say make sure the shinny side goes to the light. Also, use a wet sponge or rag to rub on the blackout and flatten it out on the light. That is the secret to getting a good cling-on.
Good luck!
Yes, I am referring to the static cling blackouts for the lights.
I did what you said and for some odd reason, mine do not stick.
Actually, the new ones are gray on the side that goes onto the light.
i tried them for a show once....didnt last while parked. i think part of the problem, mainly on the fronts, is if the front lenses are sandblasted or pitted at all from rock chips etc they wont stick. of course that doesnt explain the rears but mine went to the trash as soon as i got home.

I made the mistake of getting those also. Junk. Went with the hard plastic "carbon fiber" blackouts front and rear. .

Send them back and tell them they dont work and you want a refund. They wont give you shipping but you might be able to get some of your money back.
one of mine fell off after a couple days while driving so i let them know and they refunded my money and told me the purpose behind them was for people to see if they want the plastic ones before spending the 100 bucks for them
Use water or soapy water to apply them. I had the same problem you guys did before I tried this.
That's right and it looks like I'm not the only with this unique problem...that is, being able to figure out how to apply them so they stay. After 13 months and millions of washings, all 7 of mine are still there.
Because I am such a cheapskate, I made my own. Just made a paper template then cut the blackouts out of window tint. I don't care for the real dark blackouts, Just enough to cut down that bright white look.
Put them on with the soapy water trick and they hold on great. If they come off I can make another one.
