Default Will Z06 Mufflers fit....................?

I got a pair of Z06 mufflers (uncut) off of ebay from a '02.
I'm going to pick them up on Saturday and I need to know if they'll fit in the back hatch area of the Vette.
Has anyone done this?

Yes, there are other cars I can take, but it's going to be such a beautiful day on Saturday, I just got to take the Vette.

I work long hours so I've got to take whatever opportunity I can get.

If it won't fit I'll take the grocery-getter.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, they fit back there. Just put an old blanket down to protect the carpet.

i think although "no one" on here will admit to using their C5 to haul cargo, a complete exhaust system somehow has found its way into the hatch area of these cars....alot of these cars. mine too. yeah, it'll fit.

Hi C5 Jim -

Yes, you will have to carefully nest them together, and be sure they clear the hatch lid, but they do fit.

best regards -

I picked up a set in Carlisle. I put them in the back of the vette with pipes facing forward. They fit perfectly with the flanges resting between the seats. Muffs will be sitting in the back in the same position they are mounted when on the car. Need to wrap the flanges with rags so they don't scrap the seats and console cover. After these were in I then added luggage for two and make it all fit.

Excellent feedback folks.
I made note of everything. Thanks.

I'm taking a 400 mile roundtrip journey to Virginia to pick up the mufflers. I just spoke to the seller, who has since sold his Z06, and he offered me the Blackwing he had on the car for free!! I said yes before he could change his mind.

Imagine that, Z06 mufflers (taken off when new) and a Balckwing for $340.

I was watching that auction. Great deal, and the Blackwing is a fine bonus!

I am glad that the factory exhaust will fint in the back. I have a set i nthe shop waiting to be installed, but i have been waiting for the right time to take 2 trips to the shop, now I can do just one. I just never thought they would fit. I had them in the trunk of my Q45 for about 3 weeks.

I was watching the auction myself. They will fit and you should not have any problems. Just make sure to take some rags etc 'cos they might be really dirty

I got mine in the back of my vert for the 3 hr. trip to ECS... It can be done by yourself, but it's good to have an extra set of hands around to help you!
