Clarification: I have issue with GM and not C6 owners. They are American.

I wonder how many of the 28k have already been trashed?

Hopefully the "trashed" ones don't have Zaino on them.

Thats ridiculous... The C6 is improved in almost every way. They built upon the C5 and made it better.
Just look at the performance of the stock C6 vs the Z06..
Almost identical. Who cares if it shares the same parts with another model..
I love my 04 Z06 .. but I am not kidding myself into thinking its better than the new generation... I prefer the rawness of the C5 Z06 vs the new C6... but quit trying to fool yourself and everyone else into thinking the C6 is not improved over the C5

Pretty much. When I drove it at the autoshow-in-motion it confirmed for me that it was an excellent Cadillac.

...pfft... like I would have that thing - ever. How could I be jealous of something I don't want in the first place? Looks like someone crashed into the back of it. Sorry if you have one. To each his own.

Sour grapes, man. The C6 Z is a better car then the C5 Z in all areas. Just read a few magazines and check the ring times for the new Z and get back to me.

C6Z>>>>>>>C5Z. That's not a slam on the C5 but reality is reality.

Even more of a reason to hang onto the '02 Z06 besides they are better looking!!!

Boy, a lot of people got confused in this thread.

The point is, you are more likely to see a standard C6 than a C5 Z06 on the road.

I think it's interesting/cool.

Most of confusion, it appears, was from those that don't even drive a Z06, C5 or otherwise.

How is it sour grapes that I think it's hideous? That's what I think. I didn't even say anything about performance, etc. And the C6 was what I was referring to anyway which performance wise isn't a C5Z06. However, the C6Z is just as ugly as far as I'm concerned. It's my opinion - it has nothing to do with anything other than the looks of the car, which is the reason I won't buy one.

LOL! The C6 Zo6 better than the C5 Z06 in every way?? I don't think so, dude! lol I drove BOTH, and bought the C5. Why? The interior of the C6 looked like the 2005 Mazda 3 GT I had just tossed. The interior of the C5 Z06 looks more like a Corvette interior than the C6 Z06 interior. The C6 felt like it was more refined. I didn't WANT "more refined". If I'd wanted "refined", I'd have bought a Mercedes. I had a '79 L-82 4-speed that was almost as fast as my C5 Z06, and the C6 Z06 wasn't THAT much faster than my C5 Z06. Sure...it's "faster"....but is that the ONLY consideration? If it IS, then you should be driving a Viper. Now THAT'S fast. Your comparison of these two Vetees sounds like a comparison between Journey and Automatic Man. Journey sold MILLIONS of albums, and Automatic Man sold a few hundred thousand albums...therefore Journey is the better band?? Selling a million albums doesn't make a band "good". Just because a car's "faster" doesn't mean it's "better". Besides...what the hell's with the C6 key? lol Why the f*** even HAVE a key, if it doesn't DO anything? lol What if the battery in the keyfob dies, and you can't get into your C6? I laugh at all the C6 buyers who have dead keyfob batteries, while I drive past them! It took me a LONG time to get used to the C5, which looked to me like an LSD-inspired Pontiac (a Pontiac designer designed the C5). It'll take even longer for me to get used to the C6 design. I imagine I WILL though, in about 7 years, when I'm looking for a used Z06. THEN, I'll have no choice really, and I'll have to settle for one.

I don't like the standard C6 design, but I love the wider-bodied C6 Z06 and would trade up in a second.

It isn't wider bodied - it just has fender flares. It reminds me of the 914 to 916 fender upgrade where you cut the fenders and bonded a flare on. The C6R is wider bodied, and longer, and has a reshaped rear cap - but of course you can't really go buy one of those.
