Ok... am I crazy? Every once in a while I sense that the "MPH" on my speedo (the one that switched between MPH and KPH) flickers or flashes. It's one of those "corner of the eye" kind of things. Am I losing it, or is it perhaps tied to some ambient light sensor that makes minute adjustments?
Ive noticed while i was down here with ours that it seems to flicker, but its only from a reflection of light at a certain angle, or so it seems! just my .02

There is a light sensor on the DIC just above the fuel button which will dim certain lights on the dash and one is being the MPH/KPH on the speedo. So if it get blocked if will effect the lights
Guess that explains my theory!!! Learn something new about the cars every day on this forum!! Thanks Zilla!

i think its even owners manual. and yes, depending on where u are etc it'll bug u if u 'think' u saw it but arent for sure. mine does it over here by the house cause theres a couple of overpasses i go under right after another and it flickers between them
same sensor that tells the car not to turn on the approach lamps if its exremely bright outside. that is mentioned in owners manual. ive seen it. and i know its that sensor and not the twilight auto headlamp one cause i dont have the auto headlamps. my sensor says its too bright for approach lamps mainly if i park w/top off in the sun...
