Default Sun Visor Safety Label - Anyone Removed?

Anyone removed their saftey labels form the sun visor, well? If so, what did yo use to get the residual glue off?

My wife spotted corner coming free and started pulling. I am sort-of commited to getting the dam things of now. (Good Intensions)

I took mine off when I first got the car, it was new if that makes a difference, I just slowly pulled them off keeping pressure aganst the sticker, no residue was left

This is from another forum member. I haven't tired it yet but looks like it should work.

Whole job took about 10 minutes with a hairdryer, a good sharp pair of tweezers and some 3M adhesive remover for the residue. Looks like they were never there.

I just covered the ugly things with a CD holder on one and a holder for the garage opener, etc on the other.

I ripped mine off years ago, but saved them in case the next owner wants some "original documentation."

Default Glue

I took mine off the first week I owned her. I used "Goof Off" to remove the extra glue. 30 seconds and they look perfect.

You do wanna exercise some caution when using that hair dryer though. The first time I tried that with mine, I crispy-crittered the visor material and had to replace the entire thing.

In the right light, one could see where they once were, but with some patience and some "goo be gone" they will come off. Just don't get any one area too hot, or you'll be looking for a new visor.

You can do that! I thought it was a “Do not remove under penalty of law” thing. The mattress police might sneak from your bedroom into your garage! Sorry..

Depending on the year will determine the amount of effort to remove the label. My vette is a 2001 and the sticker can off reral easy. I hear that the newer vettes take a little more effort.

I took mine off but it left glue on the visor . The visor is cloth wraped, and I was afraid to try things like goo gone. Anyone able to get rid of the glue from the cloth cover?

Worse comes to worse, just get your local auto upholstery shop to recover your visor... not all that expensive, those of us who have owned convertibles can atest to that...

i never even knew they came off until I read on a post they did. So on my 04, two years ago, I started at one corner carefully and they peeled off. Both sides no problem. A light cleaning with Goo Gone, a light wash, leather treatment, and they look like they never existed.
