Does anyone happen to have instructions on how to dis-assemble a later model headlight motor? Mine is an '01, where the cover is "glued" on. I know there are kits out there to replace the gear, but I can't seem to get the motor cover off.
Incidentally, this is a driver's side motor, and I was able to remove the motor from the car without disturbing the headlight "bucket".
You will be greatly served if you have a nice set of 1/4 inch drive/sockets with extensions as well as a swivel joint. Some are pretty hard to get to.
A magnetic pick up stick also is handy if you drop a nut/bolt.
Took me about an hour - total time to R&R - mine had 3 screws, so didn't have to 'break' the case to get to the gears. EASY DIY with proper tools.

I just did this yesterday with Rodney's gears!
Mine is an '01 also. All I did was take a thin blade screwdriver and put it on the joint then I tapped it with a small hammer and left it wedged under the cap. Then I took a second screwdriver with a little wider blade and gently went around the edge with little twists. Both of them just popped right off, no problem.
That glue he supplies hardens rather quickly so don't go for a beer after you mix it!
