Hi everyone, just ordered new zinc coated drilled/slotted rotors and new pads. I am also planning on painting the calipers black to go with my black z06 wheels . Anyone out there ever use the Duplicolor caliper paint kit? Is it a gloss black? I am lookin for something with a high gloss enamel look. Thanks in advance for the info.

That's what I used. Worked great, still holding up in Chicago salt 4 months later.....

Hi! I'm doing the exact same thing. I put the Eradispeeds on yesterday. I plan to start painting the calipers gloss black this weekend. There is a good link in the tech section of the forum giving step by step directions. I'm using brake cleaner to clean the calipers. This along with the CLB, CAGS, racing harness and harness bar is my winter project. I've got my baby up on 4 jack stands, in the garage. I think the gloss black will be different and distinctive. Good luck w/ your project. Let's see the pics when you are done. I'll post mine too.
Just like many other topics this one has been around the block a couple times- but thats OK.
I agree w/ everyone above, but, we all spent a good deal of money on our cars and I think you should go a different path instead of painting.
Take all four of your calipers off and have them professionally powdercoated to whatever color you like. Also have them flat grind the coating off the raised "corvette" for contrast.
This is a more time consuming and expensive process(should be 300 or so) but the result is perfection to every nook and cranny of the caliper.
If your asking what to use for paint, I personally would not suggest you try it just because of the lack of experience - trust me I have seen some caliper paint jobs go south real quick even w/ the best of intentions.
I know if you do decide to powdercoat Mallett Cars can take care of it for you. Just call em up www.mallettcars.com

I used the Duplicolor black caliper paint kit on my car and was satisfied with the results. I don't think I would call it a gloss finish, but more of a semi-gloss or satin. The one thing I noticed is that the paint dries very quickly, so if you plan on using a brush, I suggest working quickly to maintain a smooth surface and minimize the brush strokes from showing.
