Default Help car wount stay on

It will turn over and start but will turn off right after. It wount stay on for more then a second or two. I tried it a couple of times. She is a 1999 daily driver, I just put about 4000 miles on her last month from DC to Orlando to Houston and back to DC. I ran the car last night and I didn't have any issues, I've never had any real issues with the car.

What do you guys think it might be?

My C-4 did that one time and come to find out that the battery had a short in it. We checked everything before the battery. Change it out and solved the problem. Worth a shot. You made need to take this to the TECH section.

My 01' did that a couple of times, turns out the spring in the ignition switch sprung back too far when you released it after starting and would come back too far. Start the car and return the key to the on position by hand and see what happens.

I had the same shyt happen to me - I ended up get her towed to the shop to replace iginition lock cylinder and ignition switch - I bet you have the same problem... good luck, it wasn't that expensive of a repair - it was like $400 total or something, but they had to fix something else too (some belt tensioner)

I still remember that day, everyone at work watched my Vette get towed

in the lot at work

I went out again and tried starting it about 30 mins after I posted this. It started and stayed running this time. I wasn't getting any codes or anything.

Thanks all.

Isn't it amazing how many onlookers show up when a Vette is being pulled up onto a flatbed?? I guess they think because they are Vettes that they shouldn't break down. I had a crowd when mine was put up. I was moving out of state and it went into a Moving Van. It still drew a crowd. They ask a lot of questions, too. Makes you feel good to be the purveyor of all things Corvette.

I hope you still plan to trouble shoot this problem. Just because it's working now doesnt mean it won't go out again and maybe stranding you some where. Good luck.
