Thas may be basic maintenence 101, but what causes this chatter?
Iv cleaned the wipers with alcohol wipes and the wipers are only 1 1/2 years old(not used vey often either).
You could have some residue stuck to your windshield. Try cleaning the windshield well. Most likely the wiper blades are dried out and needs replacement.
Im going to clean the windshield with some dish detergent to cut through any road oils, I'll see if that cures it if not then a new set of blades, thanks.
Try to keep that windshield free of road grime. I use BonAmi on my DD. Just scrub it on with a wet sponge and hose it off COMPLETELY. It may take a couple applications to get it to sparkle. It works great and will not harm the glass. I use it on my high gloss hot tub and it never dulls the shine. At the same time clean off the wiper with the sponge. As long as the w/s is wet, wipers shouldn't chatter. my .02
Great suggestions guy's i have used the Bon-Ami in the past don't have any right now though, and i have Stoners and is very good also.
I'll have to see next time it rains, if they still are talking then off to Autozone.
The superclean windshield didn't eliminate the chattering so the verdict is new wiper blades. I used Anco refills not the whole arm, cheaper $5.99 for the two refills versus $7.99 each for the blade/arm type.
