Default noisy wipers?

Thas may be basic maintenence 101, but what causes this chatter?
Iv cleaned the wipers with alcohol wipes and the wipers are only 1 1/2 years old(not used vey often either).

You could have some residue stuck to your windshield. Try cleaning the windshield well. Most likely the wiper blades are dried out and needs replacement.

Im going to clean the windshield with some dish detergent to cut through any road oils, I'll see if that cures it if not then a new set of blades, thanks.

I agree that there is some residue on the windsheild AND the blades are dried out!

Get the windsheild really clean and replace the blades.

Try cleaning windshield with some glass stripper or vinegar. Then replace the wiper blades. It worked for me

Try to keep that windshield free of road grime. I use BonAmi on my DD. Just scrub it on with a wet sponge and hose it off COMPLETELY. It may take a couple applications to get it to sparkle. It works great and will not harm the glass. I use it on my high gloss hot tub and it never dulls the shine. At the same time clean off the wiper with the sponge. As long as the w/s is wet, wipers shouldn't chatter. my .02

Get yourself some Stoners Invisible Glass, clean your windows with it then give the blades a wipedown with the Invisible Glass.

It works wonders on my wifes Grand Cherokee, I wouldn't know if it works on the vette, it doesn't see the rain...(*sorry*)..... :o

For about $25 I switched to NAPA's teflon blades and the problem went away.

The superclean windshield didn't eliminate the chattering so the verdict is new wiper blades. I used Anco refills not the whole arm, cheaper $5.99 for the two refills versus $7.99 each for the blade/arm type.

The sun kills the blades and on a daily driver they will only last about 6 to 8 months before they need to be replaced.
