X Pipe?

X Pipe?
I have a 2000 coupe with B&B Route 66 mufflers.When i rev up and let off i get kind of a back fire sound, Do i need an X Pipe to stop this noise

Sorry about the mistake with two theads, Is this the case with all aftermarket muffs?

Yep. All aftermarket exhaust have some popping without the x pipe. I have the RT 66 with the Magnaflow x pipe. No popping now.

I have a 2000 with the same exhaust. Also had the same problem as you, as well as a lot of resonance in 6th gear. Installed a Bassani X-pipe and things are so much more livable. Really reduced the resonance and the popping, while still there, has been reduced significantly.

I agree with everyone above. You will still have some popping occasionally but not as bad as you got right now.

I have an 02 Z06 and repaced the stock H with an X pipe from Magnaflow. Kept the stock exhaust and no popping at all of after the X pipe install.

I got the same set up much better and the x pipe gives you a few more hp.

Look in the for sale section here ... a used x-pipe will be just fine.
