I have searched forum, pulled out hair, I admit, I am stupid, trying to post pictures in large format. I have used the thumb nail post but how the heck do you guys post the large pics so that you do not have to click on a thumbnail???

THanks

You have to upload the picture to a hosting site, say Photobucket.com, then highlight the picture while in photobucket and press "ctrl then C" on your keyboard to copy the picture on to your computer's clipboard. Then when you respond to a thread, and you are ready to insert the photo, click the "insert image" icon, (the yellow one with the mountains), you will then see the explorer user prompt, you then hold down the ctrl (control) key on your keyboard and press "v". It will insert the picture link into the user prompt window. Click on OK in the window, then just submit the reply.

Go to the help section and one of the moderators with help getterdone!
I'm not sure but I'd bet your uploading your pics to your host and choosing that option with your host. But I always go to the help section where the pro's are and they always resolve my request.

Here is how I do it...
1. Go to your Gallery
2. Double click the pic you want so it opens up larger
3. Right click on Pic
4. Go to properties
5. Now highlight and copy where it gives you the HTTP .
6.You can then paste that into the thread using the insert pic icon

Yea, now it all makes sense, this does keep from boggin down the server with tons of high res pics. Ahhhhh.

I think in some cases they refer to this as hot swapping. If you had 3000 people pulling the same image from "your" server it really uses up your bandwidth, at your expense.

THanks again!!!!

On the painted engine covers, Tommy, you doing that yourself, it looks great. I am always impressed with the ghost style flames. Great job. Folks on this side (east coast) can do that cool stuff too, a?

Watch out...posting pics is like modding your vette. Once you figure it out, you just can't quit doing it

Hi gr8vet -

A forum member graciously provides this sitre for image hosting - for us at corvette forum ONLY, the way I understand it.

http://www.cfupload.stevesdomain.net/

you can go there and upload a picture - please make sure the pictures are reasonably sized (a lot of cameras can take images that are up to 3MB in file size). This free hosting application specifies that the file must be 200KB or less.

then, you just cut and past the image location from stevesdomain (link above) and put it in between IMG tags in your post - like this

Code:
[img]image url goes here [/img]
best regards -

I hear ya.
Can't decide between TN or FL a?

When I had a real job I spent more time in Tampa, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Chicago than in Birmingham. There is a little bit of me in some of your GM Steel components. 20 years making Coke, as in carbon fuel for the furnace guys.
