Default Garage Lifts

I'm thinking about getting a lift for my garage. My ceiling (with the garage door open) is not high enough for a 4 post lift, so I'm thinking about getting a low rise lift.

I'm looking at a low rise lift at rotarylift.com.

If any of you guys have a lift, could you post some pics and give some advice.

Thanks in advance!

Rotary no longer makes low rise lifts. I'm a rotary distributor, try
www.norcoindustries.com they have two models at lift heights of 37'' and 48''.

Does the quicklift store away easily or do you have to leave it setup in the garage?

I assume the two rails can be separated to store off to the side of the garage?

Yes it does come apart. I keep mine off to the side until I need to use it. Are you in Dallas? If so, you are welcome to come by and see mine.

Call the kwiklift guys.
They go to a LOT of car shows.
I see them everywhere.

I have heard of other members that had the kwiklift dropped off on the way to one of their shows

Might save you a few bucks.
give them a call

Hi DallasC5 -

I have a similar lift to what I think you are looking for -

I have the low-profile 8000lb lift from the now-defunct Autolifters.

When you order your lift - make sure you get the lower-profile lifting arms - tell them you have a need to lift lowered corvettes.....I have to jack up one side of any lowered C5's to get the lift arms under that car - not a big deal but if I could start over......

Also - I recommend the 220V setup - the 110 will be much slower when lifting. I actually installed a hospital-style locking-plug on the lift ccord so that it is like a plug-in appliance as opposed to hard wiring it into the garage. This way I have the 220V outlet for a welder etc. if need be.

See if you can get a deal on a nice roll-around oil-drain pan/barrel when you order the lift - you might have some leverage to get a cheaper price just before you cut the check...

you can see pictures of my install here:

and more pictures of the garage and lift here:

I was just searching around for a good lift and I found this. I don't know if these would fit your garage, but I figured I would post it anyways.

http://www.pacetools.com/index.php?k_id=45463

They've got 3-4 different models of lifts similar to the autolifter, which I believe has gone out of business. If you google autolifter you'll find some pretty interesting new stories. Anyways, good luck with your buy, hope this helped.

Hi Brett -

Yes - they went out of business trying to compete wiuth cheap imported lifts....

Had nothing to do with lift quality.

DallasC5, if your ceiling is high enough for a 4-post lift, you can have the garage door track raised.

Jason Wood, sales and marketing manager,(as mentioned above) for backyard buddy tried to play me for a fool and lied to me,and my wife. I would not trust anything he had to say. I have owned a backyard buddy lift in the past, and after my last experience with them (trying to purchase two lifts that I ultimately purchased elsewhere) I would never do business with them again.

Me, too! Just raise the door rails to the ceiling and you have room for 2 - 48" high cars and a few inches to spare.
